Hey there… my name is Izabel Nedeva.
I'm here to help you get long-lasting relief from mental health struggles, as fast as possible.
Prior to becoming a therapist, I was struggling with anxiety. Generalized anxiety, to be exact. You know… that fear of uncertainty and the heavy mental work of worrying about numerous worst-case scenarios. I didn’t know this was a common mental health condition back them. All I knew was that I wanted to study psychology and learn more about human emotions. So I did.
During my BSc in Psychology I was introduced to one of the most effective therapeutic approaches in the world – Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). Learning more about this scientifically-proven treatment made me realize how powerful our minds are! How a simple thought of ’’What if something bad happens?’’ can make your heart race almost in an instant, and how another thought of ’’I’ll be okay no matter what’’ can make the world look a lot brighter.
All the knowledge I gained, almost surprisingly, helped me gain control over my own anxiety. Upon reflection now, I visualize this success as a gradual learning curve that effortlessly helped me build a strong healing mindset. Without even realizing it at that time…
So! As you can imagine it didn’t take long for another dream to be born (and later accomplished). Completing a MSc in CBT and becoming a licensed therapist specializing in the clinical treatment of anxiety disorders. Helping other people overcome what may initially seem to be an ’’ever-lasting’’ problem through the power of CBT.
Before creating www.selfcareskills.com, I was lucky enough to work as a High Intensity Therapist for UK’s National Hospital Service (NHS) in London, and to gain professional registration with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and provisional accreditation with the British Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP).
Today, I continue to work with clients on a one-on-one basis online. But I also strive to accomplish my biggest goal thus far: creating transformational online programs for those of you who aren't able to start therapy (or simply don't wish to take that step). So that you can learn the same scientifically-proven CBT knowledge and techniques others learn in one-on-one treatment. I can personally say (with a smile on my face) that I found my mission in life!
